View LPA member works at the Lawrence Public Library from September 1 through September 30.

The exhibit will be open Mon-Thurs 9am-9pm, Fri 9am-7pm, Sat 9am-6pm and Sun 12-6pm. The library is at 707 Vermont Street in downtown Lawrence.

Tuesday, September 7, 7:00pm in the basement lobby of the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire.
The meeting features a presentation by Robbin Loomas on Color Management: Unraveling the Nightmare, “There is Nothing Wrong with Your Monitor. Do Not Attempt to Adjust Your Screen”.

We will also have information about the 2010 Art Walk.

LPA Plen Aire Show at 1109 Gallery

View LPA member works at the 1109 Gallery from June 9 through July 18.
The exhibit will be open 11-5 Wednesday through Saturday, 1-5 on Sundays, with a reception from 7-9pm on June 12. The gallery is at 1109 Massachusetts in downtown Lawrence.

Members exhibiting include Alex Hawley, Dick Herpich, Paul Herpich, Hobart Jackson, Shakura Jackson, Robbin Loomas, Angelia Perkins, Ken Ratzlaff, Beth Ridenour, Lee Schlife, Leo Schlife, Roger Spohn, Sue Suhler, Marciana Vequest, and Michelle Wade.

June 2010 Meeting / Picnic

Tuesday, June 1, 2010 4:00 – 8:00pm at the Prairie Park Shelter House, 27th & Kensington Rd.

Bring your camera, family / significant others, and potluck fare for our annual LPA Picnic which serves as our June meeting.

The park is behind Prairie Park Elementary School, with easy access to the Prairie Park Nature Center and Mary’s Lake.

Grills lit at 5pm.

Bring your grillin’ goodies and a side dish or desert.
LPA will be supplying paper plates, napkins, cutlery, soda, water, chips, condiments, etc.

Congratulations to Sue Suhler who took 2nd place among KU Alumni in the Picture the World contest at KU. The photos are on exhibition in the SUA gallery, on the 4th floor of the Kansas Union at KU, 8am-5pm M-F through May 14.

Art in the Park

LPA at Art in the Park, 2006

Come see and buy photography by Lawrence Photo Alliance members at our booth at the 49th annual Art in the Park event.

When: Sunday, May 2, 2010, from 10am to 5pm. Rain date: May 9.

Where: The east side of South Park, 12th and Massachusetts Street at the south edge of downtown Lawrence. Look in the Sunday May 2nd Lawrence Journal World for the event map and booth location.

Info for LPA members: members may exhibit in the LPA booth for an $8 booth fee. Bring as many items as you wish to sell. A 10% commission is paid from each sale to the Lawrence Art Guild.

If you wish to sell at the booth, please make time to work at the booth for a minimum of two hours. Booth setup at 9am, your help is needed. Take down at 5pm and again, your help is needed. Make arrangements to pick up any unsold artwork by 5pm.
